Arno goes Gospel (with stef)

One of these days, Studio Brussel is turning 25. To celebrate this they created Rendez-Vous (and other events). In that radioshow 25 artists cover 25 songs (one each week).

Arno -one of Belgiums finest- did a total makeover of Queen’s I want to break free (1984)… and asked Stef Kamil and Reggie (Indeep – Last Night a DJ Saved My Life) as backing vocals for this gospel version. Arno en Serge Feys recorded the song in one day.

Listen to it here.

In the interview Arno says he hasn’t got a single Queen record but really likes the video of this song… and defines Stef as the son of God:

“Als God een rock ‘n roll-zanger was geweest, en hij had een zoon, dan was dat Stef Kamil”.
(If God was a rock and roll singer, and he had a son, it would be Stef Kamil.)

.

The same quote (in french) is on the cover of Big Blueville (Bang!-edition).
