Zita Tribute CD

Zita Tribute CD front

About 6 years ago the idea of a Zita Tribute CD originated from the dEUS mailing list (dml). The project resulted in an 18 track CD with interpretations of known and rather rare Zita songs.

Thanks to Alex that great cd is now again avialable. This time as a torrent. You can find the file here. It’s in lossless .flac files, and the cover art comes with it.
(torrents can be downloaded through programs like utorrent, see comments for more detailed information on this)

I’ll add the songs as mp3 to the rabbitfield podcast – scheduled for tomorrow (evening).

Thanks to everyone who contributed to this great project!
(anyone still around?)

As far as the torrent file is concerned, you need to download something
like utorrent (http://www.utorrent.com/) or a similar bittorrent client
depending on whether you’re on Windows or not.

Then, once it’s installed, download the .torrent file again which is
really just details of where to find the files. utorrent will download
the files from me and all the other people currently downloading.

When it’s done, utorrent will tell you and you can close the program, or
leave it open for a while to share some bandwidth and help distribute
    the tribute.

.flac files are compressed CD quality sound files – “lossless” is the
official term which means no sound data is lost, unlike mp3s. The .flac
files need decompressing into .wav files before they can be burned to CD
http://flac.sourceforge.net/ has more details, though Winamp can do
    this. More details on http://flac.sourceforge.net/documentation_tasks.html.

  2. Please keep the torrent window open for as long as possible when you’ve finished downloading to help seed the tribute and make it available faster and longer for anyone that needs it. Thanks!

(and thanks, also, to all the awesome people who made the tribute possible. It would be very wrong of me to claim any credit for this whatsoever, so huge thanks to all the contributors, and to Polido for putting the thing together).
